The U.S. Senate on Thursday approved a short-term spending bill that would keep the government and its federal agencies running through February 18, narrowly escaping a partial shutdown just a day before government funding is set to expire.
The U.S. President is expected to sign the measure before the end of Friday to prevent a lapse in federal funding.
