China’s consumer price index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation, rose 1.5% YoY in December 2021, down from an increase of 2.3% in November, according to the report from the National Bureau of Statistics on Wednesday. The reading for December is lower than the 1.8% increase estimated by Reuters poll. Meanwhile, Factory prices climbed 10.3% YoY, slowing down from the 12.9% rise in November and lower than the 11.1% forecast.
