Apple will start manufacturing the latest iPhone 14 in India, and some of the products will be removed from China.
“The new iPhone 14 lineup introduces groundbreaking new technologies and important safety capabilities. We’re excited to be manufacturing iPhone 14 in India,” Apple said in a statement.
The company has a partnership with Foxconn and Wistron, which has the Sriperumbudur facility near southwest Chennai. Apple launched the iPhone 14 models earlier this month, focusing on safety upgrades, flashy new technical specifications, and a new adventure-focused watch.
A JP Morgan analyst said that Apple will move 5% of global iPhone 14 production to India by late 2022.
