Asian markets are trading in mixed session on Tuesday amid concerns over rising Covid-19 cases as the central bank kept the benchmark loan prime rates on hold.
As of 10:36 BKK time on Tuesday, Nikkei rose 0.74%, SSEC gained 0.19%, Hang Seng Index fell 0.61%, Kospi slipped 0.16% while ASX200 increased 0.65%.
Thailand’s SET Index gained 9.58 points or 0.59% to 1,628.44 points.
China reported 2,145 local symptomatic cases and 25,754 asymptomatic cases on November 21, putting the number to another new high since April 2022 when major cities went into lockdown.
China’s one-year loan prime rate (LPR) was kept at 3.65%, while the five-year LPR was unchanged at 4.30%.
