WHA Group, Thailand’s leader in fully integrated Logistics, Industrial Estates, Utilities and Power, Digital Platform; and a Communication Partner of the recently held APEC Summit Thailand 2022, showcased its initiatives and actions that align with the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) economic model of the Thai government to drive the national economy forward sustainably.
Among the sustainable development projects displayed at WHA Group’s 100 square meter booth were its clean and renewable energy projects, including the development of solar energy and waste-to-energy ventures such as the Chonburi Clean Energy power plant. Also featured were the Clean Water for Planet project, involving wastewater reclamation and management, as well as knowledge transfer to communities for better understanding and awareness on the importance of natural resource conservation; and the WeCYCLE initiative that helps create jobs and income for community members around WHA industrial estates, through the harvest of water hyacinth used to manufacture hampers and laptop bags in line with the circular economy.
Ms. Jareeporn Jarukornsakul, Chairman and Group CEO, WHA Corporation PCL, said “Adhering to the government’s BCG economic model is a commitment to balanced growth in all dimensions. Sustainability has always been part of WHA Group’s DNA and our business development strategy, as we expand in the region. We are going towards a Zero Waste goal for all our industrial estates, and Net Zero CO2 emission by 2050 using innovations and smart technology to preserve our natural resources.”
