Thai Central Bank to Keep Eyes on Baht Depreciation after Trump’s Presidential Victory

On Thursday, the Bank of Thailand reported that the Thai baht, following other currencies, has weakened due to the U.S. dollar shooting up in value after Donald Trump claimed his victory in the US election.

Right now Thai’s baht has gone down to THB 34.20 per US$. The baht has depreciated by 0.42% so far this year.

The central bank noted that the allocation of capital flows is maintained at a normal level, while reiterating that the Bank of Thailand will continue to observe the market and the currency fluctuation.
