Thailand’s Ministry of Energy to Reduce Electricity Bills in 2025

Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister, Pirapan Salirathavibhaga, has announced that the Ministry of Energy will announce a reduction in electricity bills for the period spanning January to April 2025.

The new rate will decrease from the current average of THB 4.18 per unit (observed from February to December 2024) to THB 4.15 per unit. This initiative aims to ease the financial burden on citizens and is presented as a New Year’s gift to the people of Thailand.

In addition, the Office of the Energy Regulatory Commission (OERC) has given its approval for the review of the Ft rates and electricity bills for the period spanning January to April 2025, leading to the established rate of THB 4.15 per unit as mentioned above. The formal announcement regarding this decision is expected to be made public soon.
