Thai PM Meets Nvidia CEO ‘Jensen Huang’ to Discuss Tech Investment in Thailand

Prasert Jantararuangtong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Economy and Society revealed that on 3 November 2024, Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister of Thailand, will meet with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang during his official visit to Thailand to discuss investment and technological cooperation in the kingdom.

The meeting between the Prime Minister and Nvidia CEO will focus on possible collaboration between the two parties, especially in the production of AI chips and bolstering Thailand as the South East Asia center of AI innovation.

Nvidia, now worth $3.3 billion, is the leader in artificial intelligence (AI) chip development and among the most influential tech companies in the world. The meeting would likely result in a significant investment in the country and bolster its AI capability.

Additionally, Huang will join AI Vision for Thailand, hosted by Siam AI, on 4 December 2024. The event, which will focus on a path Thailand could take in developing AI under the theme “The First Step for Thailand Sovereign AI,” will be held at the Embassy Room, Park Hyatt Bangkok.

Jensen Huang’s visit is considered a major leap forward for technological cooperation between Thailand and Nvidia, which would make a crucial impact on Thailand’s economic development and AI innovation.
