Thailand’s customs-cleared exports grew by 8.2% in November year-on-year, according to the commerce ministry—a figure that closely matched the 8.4% increase predicted by analysts in a Reuters poll. This follows a significant 14.6% jump seen in October.
Meanwhile, customs-cleared imports in November saw a modest increase of 0.9%, falling short of the 2.26% rise anticipated by analysts. The trade balance for the month recorded a deficit of $0.22 billion, far better than the $1.01 billion deficit projected by the Reuters survey.
Looking ahead, the Commerce Ministry forecasts a 5.2% rise in exports for 2024, indicating sustained confidence in the country’s trade prospects. Meanwhile, the ministry maintains a steady outlook, expressing no concerns over export performance in 2025.
