Thai PM Appoints Khunying Patama as Advisor for 33rd SEA Games and 13th ASEAN Para Games

Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has appointed Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul and Volunteer Defense Corps Colonel Chaipak Siriwat to serve as advisors for the competition organizing committee in the 33rd SEA Games (2025) and the 13th ASEAN Para Games (2025).

On 17 January 2025, Mr Gongsak Yodmani, Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), revealed he had requested officials from Bangkok to use Sanam Luang as a venue for the 33rd SEA Games 2025’s opening ceremonies, which Thailand will host.

The governor also stated that there is a possibility the area will be used as a venue, but the official will need to examine other events that may happen in the same period.

Nevertheless, the 33rd SEA Games will be organized in 3 provinces: Bangkok, Chon Buri, and Songkhla from 9 December to 20 December 2025.

Khunying Patama is a well-known figure in sports activity due to being a member of the International Olympic Committee, executive council member of the Olympic Council of Asia, deputy president of the Badminton World Federation, president of the Badminton Association of Thailand, and more.

As for Colonel Chaipak, he is a vice president of the Olympic Council of Asia and president of the Thailand Hockey Association.
