Trump Plans to Move Forward with Additional Tariffs on Mexican and Canadian Imports

After postponing the additional tariffs on Canada and Mexico for about a month, US President Donald Trump had made a forward signal to impose additional tariffs on these two US neighbors.

Back on February 1, Trump ordered 25% tariffs on imports from Mexico and Canada, along with 10% tariffs on Canadian energy. His reason is to end the crime and drug, which he claimed had crossed from these nations to the US. In response, both nations announced the installation of their retaliatory tariffs on the American imports.

However, Trump later paused that order after the leaders of both nations promised to increase their border-policing efforts. The US president stated that the delay will last 30 days for Canada, and one month for Mexico. The expiration date is approaching for both nations.

Besides these two nations, Trump also imposed 10% tariffs on Chinese imports and announced reciprocal tariffs to match the tariff other nations imposed as he claimed that they have taken advantage of the US on everything.

Additionally, China also retaliated with their own tariffs on US imports as the tit for tat continues.
