RCL Purchases 4 New Vessels to Augments Fleet Operation and Competitiveness

Regional Container Lines Public Company Limited (SET: RCL) has informed the Stock Exchange of Thailand that the Board of Directors’ Meeting No. 2/2025 held on 13th March 2025 passed a resolution to approve Regional Container Lines Pte. Ltd. (RCS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company in Singapore, to purchase two newly built 11,000 TEU vessels and two newly built 4,400 TEU vessels.

The transactions consisted of two transactions, including two 11,000 TEU vessels, which shall not exceed $125 million or approximately THB 4,259 million, and two 4,400 TEU vessels, which shall not exceed $59.7 million or approximately THB 2,034 million. The transaction occurred on March 13, 2025, utilizing the company’s own fund and loan from a financial institute.

The additional orders of 11,000 TEUs and 4,400 TEUs vessels align with the Company’s strategy to enhance its fleet, expand operations into new markets, and strengthen its existing network. This initiative not only enhances operational efficiency but also supports the long-term time charter-out (TC-Out) market, which is expected to remain in high demand. This investment serves as a foundation for the Company’s sustainable growth in the future.
