Time Out Magazine Names Thailand among World’s Best in Food, Airports, & LGBTQ Destinations

Thailand has recently been named among the world’s best in various fields. Here are some highlights.

Bangkok has been ranked as the second-best city for food in the world this year, following New Orleans in the U.S.A., in Time Out magazine’s list of the world’s 20 Best Cities for Food, climbing from sixth place last year. The survey also found that Bangkok’s food scene offers delicious and high-quality dishes that are fast, convenient, and diverse.

Suvarnabhumi Airport also secured second place in the 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards by DestinAsian, a leading travel magazine in the Asia-Pacific region. The award is based on votes from the readers, considering factors such as the airport’s service quality, safety, and overall passenger satisfaction. This achievement reflects the country’s position as the region’s leading aviation hub.

In addition, Thailand was named the Best LGBTQ Destination at the Spartacus Travel Awards 2025 in Germany, presented by Spartacus magazine. The award was based on votes from readers and editorial selection, affirming the country’s position as a top destination for LGBTQ travelers. Factors contributing to the recognition include the passing of the Equal Marriage Act in January, and the presence of LGBTQ-friendly attractions in major cities, including Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, and Chiang Mai.
