The share price of Jasmine International Public Company Limited (SET: JAS) and Mono Next Public Company Limited (SET: MONO) surged on Thursday amid positive sentiment on the right to broadcast the English Premier League and FA Cup in Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia.

Yesterday,  JAS, the exclusive rights holder for live broadcasts of the English Premier League and FA Cup granted by The Football Association Premier League Limited (FAPL) in Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia from 2025/26 onwards, has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Advanced Info Service Public Company Limited (SET: ADVANC or AIS), forming a strategic partnership to bring the world’s most popular football league content directly to Thai football fans and AIS customers in the near future.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone in transforming the sports streaming landscape in Thailand. Through leading streaming platforms such as AIS PLAY and Monomax both recognized for their extensive collections of global sports and premium entertainment content—viewers will be able to enjoy a seamless digital experience tailored to every lifestyle.

This partnership is expected to significantly expand the user base across AIS mobile and AIS 3BB Fibre 3 home internet broadband customers, while elevating the live viewing experience of the world’s most-followed football leagues. Official service will begin soon, with a range of package options designed to meet the needs of all Thai audiences.

Bualuang Securities has projected that a collaboration to broadcast the Premier League will significantly increase the attractiveness of AIS’ package offerings. When combined with existing services such as golf broadcasts and Netflix access, this deal is expected to bring approximately 1 million new subscribers. The current Premier League viewership in Thailand stands at around 6 million, with the primary target being individuals who have not yet subscribed but are interested at accessible pricing.

As of December 2024, AIS reported having a total of 45.8 million mobile subscribers, marking an increase of 1.1 million from the previous year. Among these, over 12 million are 5G users, representing 26% of the customer base and a 31% increase from the prior year. The home internet service has also expanded, with 5 million users, up by 243,000 from the previous year, maintaining a steady 46% broadband market share. The company aims to grow its user base to 5.3 million by the end of 2025.

Moreover, this collaboration will have positive effects for JAS and MONO, particularly in terms of direct sponsorship revenue from AIS, estimated at 1 billion baht annually, in addition to regular subscription revenues. This initiative is also expected to bolster the overall user base for both companies which will enhance long-term competitiveness in Thailand’s digital content industry.
