Adidas Warns of Rising Prices as Trump’s Tariffs Taking Effect

Adidas recently announced that it would maintain the 2025 guidance despite rising concerns of rising pressure from trade tariffs on Chinese import goods. However, the German sportswear maker stated that it may have to raise manufacturing costs on all of its products due to the U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariffs.

The company’s CEO, Bjorn Gulden, stated that Adidas has been shifting its manufacturing plant from China to other countries to avoid U.S.’ levy. However, the company is still being affected as the nations, where Adidas relocated its supply chain to, are also facing high tariffs from the U.S.

Last week, Adidas made an unscheduled statement, revealing its high quarterly sales and profit that surpassed market expectations. However, it also warned that its price may increase due to the possible rising in production cost. As for how much it rises or affects consumer’s demand, the company is currently unable to determine.

Despite positive sales performance in the first quarter, Adidas refrained from raising its revenue and profit forecast beyond its earlier guidance due to the uncertainty in global trade situations.
