Honda Motor Co. and its Chinese joint venture partner Dongfeng Motor on Thursday said together they would build a new factory in Wuhan Economic Development Zone in Hubei Province, China to manufacture electric vehicles (EVs) starting 2024.
Honda in a statement said, the factory would have a production capacity of 120,000 vehicles a year.
Additionally in their statement Honda added, the plant would use renewable energy sources such as solar power in an effort to realize carbon neutrality.
