The Canadian government announced that the COVID-19 restriction for travelers, including vaccination and mask, will be lifted on Oct 1.
The Canadian travel industry is already in for visitors’ travel plans after a month of quiet during the pandemic. More than 90% of Canadians over 12 have taken the COVID vaccine, Moderna, and bivalent COVID-19 shots for adults.
“Thanks largely to Canadians who have rolled up their sleeves to get vaccinated, we have reached the point where we can safely lift the sanitary measures at the border,” Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos said.
Requirements to wear masks on planes and trains would also be lifted, while cruise passengers and crews will no longer be subject to vaccine requirements or Covid-19 testing.
