China reported on Monday that the third-quarter economic growth of 2022 expanded by 3.9% from the same period of last year, and also beat expectations for a 3.4% growth by a Reuters poll.
The data in the third quarter also showed that the economy had picked up from 0.4% in the second quarter, bringing China’s economic growth for the first three quarters of this year to 3%, but still below the official target of around 5.5%, largely due to the Covid-19 restrictions that force large economic cities to go into a lockdown in the second and third quarter.
