Thailand’s exports are expected to expand 7-8% in 2022 as shipments are seen contracting in the final quarter of the year due to a slowdown in global growth and production, according to Thai National Shippers’ Council’s forecast.
Fourth quarter exports could record a 3% contraction for the first time, citing the manufacturing producer index (MPI) of Thailand’s main trading partners such as the U.S. and Europe were lower than 50 in October.
The council also forecast Thai exports to grow by 2-3% in 2023.
