The UK will consider imposing COVID-19 restrictions on arrivals from China on Thursday, according to the Telegraph.
According to the article, officials from the Department for Transport, the Home Office, and the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) are likely to decide today whether the UK should follow the United States and Italy in putting COVID restrictions on visitors from China.
The restrictions were “not something we are looking at,” the Prime Minister’s spokesperson said earlier on Wednesday, according to the report.
On late Wednesday, the US announced that all air travelers from China, Hong Kong and Macua are required to show negative COVID-19 tests before bettering the country, while Italy demanded COVID-19 antigen swabs and viral sequencing for all Chinese visitors.
