Kristalina Georgieva, the managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), told CNBC in an interview on Tuesday at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland that currently she did not see a downgrade for the global economy, but pointed out that growth will slow down this year.
The institution predicted that the institution will go by half a percentage point down compared to 2022. On the bright side, she added that growth should bottom out this year and the global economy should start to accelerate in 2024.
Note that the International Monetary Fund adjusted its predictions for global growth three times since October 2021.
