Cirium has unveiled the results of its 2024 On-Time Performance Review, recognizing standout airlines and airports for their punctuality and operational efficiency. This annual report is considered the benchmark for assessing global airline and airport performance. Cirium defines an on-time flight as one that arrives within 14 minutes and 59 seconds of its scheduled gate arrival, while airport punctuality is based on departures within the same time frame of their scheduled times.
Aeromexico received the accolade of most On-Time “Global Airline,” with an impressive on-time performance rate of 86.70% in 2024. Saudia followed closely in second place with a rate of 86.35%, whereas Delta Air Lines, renowned for its operational reliability, secured the third position with 83.46%.
Cirium’s review also honors airlines for their punctuality across five regions. Iberia Express claimed the title of most On-Time airline in Europe and also led as the most On-Time Low-Cost airline globally. Delta Air Lines maintained its lead in North America, demonstrating continued excellence. Meanwhile, Copa Airlines celebrated its 10th victory in Latin America, and FlySafair was recognized as the top performer in the Middle East and Africa.
These achievements underscore the importance of reliability and punctuality as key metrics in the airline industry, vital for enhancing passenger experience and operational efficiency.
As for Asia-Pacific, Japan Airlines ranked first in the region, just slightly ahead of All Nippon Airways. Thai AirAsia ranked fifth for Asia Pacific airlines on the on-time report at 77.46% in 2024, slightly lower than Japan Airlines at 80.90%. It is worth noting that Thai AirAsia has the highest completion factor (the percentage of scheduled flights that are completed and not canceled) among all airlines in the region at 99.97%.
Meanwhile, Thai AirAsia also ranked 10th on the global list of low-cost carriers airlines report as well. Its completion factor also tops the pack.
