Etihad Airways, a renowned global airline, has officially announced its partnership to become a sponsor of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) starting in 2025. This collaboration was revealed during a press conference featuring Dr. Nadia Bastaki, Chief Human Resources and Corporate Image Executive of Etihad, and Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul, an IOC Member and Vice President of the BWF. The announcement was made at the opening badminton tournament of the year, the “Petronas Malaysia Open 2025,” a World Tour Super 1000 event with a prize pool totaling USD 1,450,000 (approximately 50,663,000 Thai Baht), held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on January 10, 2025.
Etihad Airways, being the national airline of the United Arab Emirates and recognized globally, is committed to its long-term support of the BWF from 2025 onwards. The sponsorship will include support for various BWF tournaments, such as the BWF World Tour Finals, BWF World Championships, BWF Sudirman Cup Finals, and BWF Thomas & Uber Cup Finals, among others.
