China and Vietnam inked numerous collaboration agreements to fortify relations between the two communist-led nations.
Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Vietnam, amidst warnings against protectionism and trade wars, underscores Beijing’s efforts to position itself as a steady alternative to the unpredictable policies of US President Donald Trump.
The signing ceremony, including agreements on various sectors like supply chains, AI, maritime patrols, and railway development, marked a pivotal point in the strengthening of bilateral ties. Both countries had reportedly signed a total of 45 agreements.
Xi engaged in discussions with Vietnam’s top leadership, headed by General Secretary To Lam. The meeting, paving the way for enhanced cooperation, follows the recent imposition of substantial tariffs by the US on Vietnamese exports.
While Xi embarks on his inaugural international trip of the year, aiming to bolster regional trade connections and alleviate economic repercussions, Vietnam reiterates its commitment to deepening collaboration with China for long-term, balanced, and sustainable growth.
