Thailand found the first local transmission of the omicron COVID variant, said the Ministry of Public Health on Monday.
The patient is a Thai woman who caught it from her husband, who returned from Nigeria on November 26 under the “sandbox” scheme in Bangkok and was detected for omicron variant on December 3.
Public Health office also reported that as of now, there are 63 confirmed omicron cases in Thailand and about 20 cases awaiting results.
