Global stocks edged up on Wednesday ahead of the outcome of the Federal Reserve’s policy meeting on Wednesday, while oil rose towards recent seven-year highs on tension between Russia and Ukraine.
The SET, , CSI 300 and HSI inched up by 0.27%, 0.72% and 0.19% respectively while the KOSPI and TOPIX extended loss by 0.41% and 0.25% respectively.
MSCI broad market index ex. Japan is down by 1.50%.
U.S. futures opened in the positive with Dow Jones and S&P 500 down by 0.98% and 1.36% respectively.
Crude oil futures inched up from yesterday’s session with WTI futures up by 0.67% to $86.18 per barrel while Brent by 0.94% to $89.01 per barrel.
