A bill was introduced in Arizona that would make Bitcoin legal tender in the state, as reported by Coindesk.
The bill named SB 1341 was introduced by the state’s Senator Wendy Rogers, a Republican. It seeks to amend the list of accepted legal tender to include bitcoin, which means the cryptocurrency would be accepted for the payment of debt, public charges, taxes and other dues.
However, it is questionable whether the law go into effect as the U.S. constitution does not allow individual states to create their own legal tender.
Before the bill gets singed into law by the governor, the bill must pass the Arizona state senate and house.
