SCBx to trade at previous base of THB115, Bitkub deal continues to progress

The Siam Commercial Bank Public Company Limited (SET: SCBB) could pressure the Thai stock market in the short-term after the expiration of tender offer for a share swap, resulting in less than 5% of liquidity. The analyst expected every THB10 of price decline will pressure the SET Index by 3.4 points, recommending to wait for SCBx on April 28, 20222, which could rise to the previous level of SCB at around THB115 per share.

Meanwhile, the deal with “Bitkub” is still progressing after a share swap with SCBx and will appoint an financial advisor for audition and will be sending an application to the Bank of Thailand.

 

MINT urges Thai PM to cancel Covid-19 restriction on foreign arrivals

Minor International Public Company Limited (SET: MINT) Chairman sent a letter to the Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha to cancel Thailand Pass and Test & Go measures, citing that a fully-vaccinated certificate or a medical certificate of recovery from Covid-19 should suffice to enter the country.

 

BCPG commences commercial operation of Japan-based Yabuki solar farm

BCPG Public Company Limited (SET: BCPG) announced that its Yabuki solar power plant has been fully commercialized since 15th April 2022. The Yabuki project is located in Fukushima province, Japan and has a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) of 20.0 MW at Feed-in-Tariff (FIT) 36 yen per kWh with Tohoku Electric Power Company for 20 years.

Its 25MW Komagane solar farm recently commercialized in late March, expecting to push EBITDA by 25-35% to its projection.

 

KKP announced better-than-expected 1Q22 earnings

Kiatnakin Phatra Bank Public Company Limited (SET: KKP) reported a net profit of 2,055 million baht in 1Q22, increased 40.46%, which was higher than analysts’ estimate due to higher interest and service income along with lower provisions. The company reported a strong coverage ratio at 181%, while NPL dropped to 2.93%.

 

New NBTC boards to consider TRUE and DTAC amalgamation

The new five board members of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) will start their first day in the position today, expecting to meet with three agenda, including the bidding for 3500MHz satellite and the amalgamation of TRUE and DTAC.
