The Office of The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has agreed to allow True Corporation Public Company Limited (SET: TRUE) and Total Access Communication Public Company Limited (SET: DTAC) to proceed with their amalgamation and will issue several conditions for the two companies to follow in order to compensate their customers that could lose some benefit or privilege from this merger, according to the source in telecommunication sector.
The source also added that the boards of NBTC are still discussing how to deliver the statement using the word ‘allow’ or ‘acknowledge,’ which will have an impact in the court as the public that disapproves of the merger is preparing to file a complaint against the Thai regulator.
The Administrative Court earlier came to a resolution that the NBTC has the authority to allow and deny the merger.
