Goldman Sachs Group Inc had bought the bond portfolio of SVB Financial Group before the commencement of the receivership by US regulators, according to the filing from the troubling lender SVB Financial Group and was first reported by Reuters.
The acquisition of this portfolio consists mostly of U.S. Treasuries with a book value of $23.97 billion and sale fetched proceeds of $21.45 billion (resulting in an after-tax loss of approximately $1.8 billion).
