Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited (SET: BCP) announced on Monday that its 45%-owned subsidiary OKEA ASA (OKEA) has entered into an agreement to acquire 28% working interest in Statfjord.
After the completion, OKEA production will be 40,000 boepd and the 2P reserve will be 100 million barrel oil equivalent.
The Statfjord oil field, found in 1974 by Mobil and operated by Equinor since 1987, is a large oil and gas field covering 580 km2 in the U.K.-Norwegian boundary of the North Sea.
