Gulf Energy Development Public Company Limited (SET: GULF) would like to provide notification to the Stock Exchange of Thailand that on October 1, 2023, Gulf PD Company Limited, a subsidiary of the company and the operator of Gulf PD power project (GPD), commenced the sale of electricity generated from its second unit, with an installed capacity of 662.5 megawatts, to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) as scheduled.
The GPD project is a combined-cycle gas turbine power plant that uses natural gas as a source of fuel, with a total installed capacity of 2,650 megawatts (comprised of 4 power-producing units with a capacity of 662.5 megawatts per unit), located in the Rojana Pluak Daeng Industrial Estate, Pluakdaeng district, Rayong province, and has a 25-year power purchase agreement with EGAT.
GPD’s first unit commenced its commercial operation on March 31, 2023, while units 3-4 are scheduled to commence commercial operation in March 2024 and October 2024, respectively.
