BCPG Exits Japan Solar Projects for Over THB 10 Billion

BCPG Public Company Limited successfully divested its total solar power projects in Japan worth over THB 10,000 million. The proceed realized from the divestment will be reinvested in other renewable projects to enhance the Company’s rapid expansion.

According to Niwat Adirek, President and CEO of BCPG, on June 26, 2024, the Company successfully achieved a share purchase transaction valuing THB 10,377 million with Obton, a large Danish renewable energy company, to divest all BCPG’s nine solar power plants and investments in Japan. The portfolio’s sales transaction, when compared with the book value, brought about a surplus of more than THB 2,300 million, which will be recognized within Q2/2024.

The divestment of solar power plants in Japan is in line with BCPG’s strategy to “recycle” the capital into new high-value renewable assets, speeding up the Company’s growth.

BCPG’s portfolio in Japan consists of nine solar power plants, with a total production capacity of 117 MW, and the Asset Management and Operation and Maintenance company.
