CKP’s 2Q24 Earnings Surge Over 400 Folds with Higher Revenue from NN2 and Lower Expenses

CK Power Public Company Limited (SET: CKP) has announced its 2Q24 consolidated financial statement through the Stock Exchange of Thailand as follows;

CKP reported a net profit of Baht 74 million in 2Q24, a significant increase from Baht 1.8 million in 2Q23. 

In Q2 2024, the company recognized a Core Net Profit of Baht 148.7 million, a YoY increase of Baht 197.1 million, mainly driven by an increase in NN2’s revenue from sales of electricity, a decrease in operating expenses and a decrease in share of core net loss from investment in associates.

Total Revenue of Q2 2024 increased by 2.1% YoY, mainly driven by a YoY increase in NN2’s Revenue from Sales of Electricity from YoY higher reservoir level at the beginning of 2024 and higher water inflow during Q2 2024 compared to the same period last year.  

In Q2 2024, the company recognized a Share of Loss from Investments in Joint Ventures and Associates of Baht 109.2 million, an increase in loss of Baht 10.0 million YoY. Excluding the shares of Foreign Exchange Gain (Loss) from XPCL and LPCL, the company would recognize the Share of Core Net Loss from Joint Ventures and Associates of Baht 32.8 million, a decrease in loss of Baht 109.8 million YoY.
