Land and Houses Securities noted a significant 5.79% day-on-day increase in the Baltic Exchange Dry Index (BDI), reaching 1,919 points. This surge was attributed to the attacks on Saudi Arabian and Panamanian tankers by the Houthis in the Red Sea.

According to the U.S. military, Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels launched attacks on two crude oil tankers – the Saudi-flagged Amjad and the Panama-flagged Blue Lagoon I – in the Red Sea on Monday. The military described the assaults as “reckless acts of terrorism.”

Both tankers were reportedly in proximity to each other before the attacks began, while they managed to proceed with their journey without sustaining significant damage and with no reported injuries.
