Mr. Somboon Aueatchasai, the Chief Executive Officer of Gunkul Engineering Public Company Limited (SET: GUNKUL), shared his expectations for robust growth in the second half of 2024, aligning with the company’s earlier projections. The management anticipates achieving a revenue of 9,500 million baht by the end of the year.
Having already surpassed half of the revenue target in the first six months of the year, Mr. Somboon expressed confidence in the continuous growth of revenue from electricity sales, EPC, and services segments. He believes these factors will contribute significantly towards achieving the company’s 2024 goal.
Mr. Somboon highlighted that the current backlog for EPC works stands at 4,000 million baht, with an anticipated income realization of 2,800 million baht by the end of the year. Furthermore, the company’s renewable energy ventures in Thailand and overseas, totaling 1,593MW, are poised for growth in the second half of the year, particularly in wind energy due to its seasonal peak in the third and fourth quarters.
Looking ahead over the next 3-5 years, Gunkul Engineering expects electricity sales to remain the core business with an annual growth rate of 15-18%. The EPC business is also projected to gradually increase sales, with an annual backlog maintained at around 4,000-5,000 million baht.
The company aims to enhance its power generation business capacity to 2,000MW within the next two years, primarily driven by expansions in renewable energy projects. Additionally, the upcoming PDP 2024 and government project bids are anticipated to create new growth opportunities for the company.
