AOTGA Prepares to Auction Major Projects at Suvarnabhumi Airport, Seeking Strategic Partners for Expansion

Airports of Thailand Ground Assistance (AOTGA) is gearing up to participate in a bidding process for the third operator at Suvarnabhumi Airport with two significant projects – Passenger Terminal and Cargo Terminal Services, totaling 67.3 billion baht. If successful, these projects have the potential to double the company’s annual income by over 6,000 million baht.

Recently, the company has inaugurated a Customs Service Center to facilitate the distribution of 40,000-50,000 tons of goods per year, generating an estimated annual revenue growth of 10-15%.

Mr. Siriwat Towachirakul, President of AOT Ground Aviation Services Company Limited (AOTGA), a subsidiary of Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) holding 49% of shares, while SKY ICT Public Company Limited (SET: SKY) holds 51% in AOTGA through SAL Group (Thailand) Co., Ltd., expressed that AOTGA is well-prepared to compete for upcoming projects after successfully managing ground services at Phuket and Don Mueang airports, in addition to collaborations with two other operators at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Notably, Phuket Airport also handles air cargo services, contributing 60-70% of AOTGA’s total revenue.

Previously, Mr. Kerati Kijmanawat, Chief Executive Officer of AOT, anticipated announcing public-private partnership (PPP) invitations for both projects in September, slightly delayed from the initial goal set in late August due to the ongoing development of bidding terms.

Mr. Siriwat further added that AOTGA recently launched the Customs Service Center, a Multimodal Transportation Center covering 4,872 square meters within the Duty-Free Zone at Suvarnabhumi Airport. This center marks the country’s first hub capable of accommodating comprehensive cross-border freight transportation across various modes – land, rail, sea, and air, allowing seamless customs procedures in a unified process.

Additionally, AOTGA invested 150 million baht in the newly established Customs Service Center, expecting to break even within 7-8 years. With an existing clientele of about 10 parties, AOTGA projects a transport volume of 40,000-50,000 tons by 2025, generating approximately 80 million baht in revenue, with an envisaged annual growth rate of 10-15%.
