GULF Launches Commercial Operation of GPD Unit 4 with 662.5MW Capacity

Gulf Energy Development Public Company Limited (SET: GULF) have sent a notification to the Stock Exchange of Thailand that on October 1, 2024, Gulf PD Company Limited, a subsidiary of the Company and the operator of Gulf PD power project (GPD), commenced the sale of electricity generated from its fourth unit, which is the last unit of the project, to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) as scheduled, following the commercial operation commencement of its 1-3 units with a total installed power generation capacity of 1,987.5 megawatts on March 31, 2023, October 1, 2023, and March 31, 2024, respectively.

The GPD power project is located in the Rojana Pluak Daeng Industrial Estate, Pluakdaeng district, Rayong province, and is one of the Independent Power Producers (“IPP”) that use natural gas as a fuel source. It operates under Independent Power Development Company Limited (“IPD”), which is a holding company of the two IPPs with a combined installed capacity of 5,300 megawatts: Gulf SRC power project (“GSRC”), which has been fully operational since 2022, and the GPD power project, of which all units have currently reached commercial operation. Both the GSRC and GPD projects have an installed capacity of 2,650.0 megawatts each (comprised of 4 power producing units with capacity of 662.5 megawatts per unit) and has a 25-year power purchase agreement with EGAT.
