On Monday at 10:37 AM (Bangkok time), the share price of Thaicom Public Company Limited (SET: THCOM) rose by 1.31% or THB 0.20 to THB 15.50, with a trading value of THB 344.47 million.
THCOM’s stock price surged after news emerged that the National Broadcasting and Telecommunication Commission (NBTC) plans to hold a board meeting to review three orbital slot licenses: 50.5, 51, and 142 East. The NBTC aimed to grant the license for the 50.5E slot to secure Thailand’s rights before the November 27 cut-off, with the other permits subject to committee approval. THCOM expressed assurance in launching its satellite into a 50.5 orbital slot for the country’s advantage. Meanwhile, the company also submitted an application to bid for the other two licenses as well.
