MR. D.I.Y., Thailand’s leading home improvement and lifestyle retailer, has made a significant leap in its sustainability journey by launching a fleet of electric trucks as part of its electric vehicle (EV) transport project. This initiative not only modernizes the company’s logistics but also underscores its dedication to reducing its environmental footprint.
Mr. Andy Chin, Chief Executive Officer, MR. D.I.Y. Thailand, emphasized the company’s long-standing commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. “For over eight years, we’ve embedded ESG into our core operations—focusing on social welfare, community development, and transparent governance. Reaching 800 stores across Thailand shows that we can grow responsibly while keeping our promise ‘To Offer Everyone Everything Every Day at Always Low Prices.’”
D.I.Y.’s focus on renewable energy is central to its sustainability strategy and the company’s “MR. D.I.Y. Cares” program, now in its sixth year. As part of this initiative, the company has installed over 300 solar panels at its warehouses, fully transitioned to electric forklifts, and recently introduced six EV trucks to its fleet. MR. D.I.Y. plans to further expand the number of EV trucks in its fleet and introduce EV pickup trucks for employee transportation. Additionally, solar panels will soon be installed at many store locations nationwide.
The “MR. D.I.Y. Cares” program promotes energy efficiency internally through a mandatory lights-off policy during lunch breaks and by encouraging employees to unplug non-essential electronics after work hours. The company also leads recycling efforts by converting plastic bottles into value-added products.
Through these wide-ranging initiatives, MR. D.I.Y. continues to position itself as a leader in environmentally responsible retail operations, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable growth and the adoption of clean energy in Thailand.
