SCC Reports 70% Decline in 3Q24 Earnings on Strong Baht and Inventory Pricing

The Siam Cement Public Company Limited (SET: SCC) has announced its 3Q24 consolidated financial statement through the Stock Exchange of Thailand as follows;

SCC stated that for the period of 3Q24, consolidated revenue from sales increased 2% y-o-y to Baht 128,199 million attributed to the incremental sales from SCG Chemicals (SCGC) and SCGP.

Meanwhile, consolidated profit for the period registered at Baht 721 million, a decrease of 70% y-o-y attributed to the downward inventory price adjustment, foreign exchange effect from the Baht appreciation and lower equity income from associates.

Additionally, SCGP (72% stake) reported improved 9M/24 Revenue from Sales of 101,553 million baht, which rose +4% YoY. EBITDA reported at 13,293 million baht, decreasing -1% YoY and Profit for the Period registered at 3,756 million baht, a decline of -7% YoY.

SCGD (73% stake) reported 9M/24 Revenue from Sales registered at 19,585 million baht or -9% YoY. However, EBITDA registered at 2,530 million baht or +2% YoY, and Profit for the Period reported at 730 million baht or +69% YoY.
