Thai Baht Climbs as Dollar Softens in Global Markets

In early trading on Friday, the Thai baht experienced an uptick as the U.S. dollar lost footing, influenced by a recovery in the euro.

By 0220 GMT, the baht had appreciated by 0.56%, reaching 34.135 per dollar, after momentarily touching a one-month high of 34.065. Despite being down 0.09% against the dollar since the year’s commencement, the baht stands as Asia’s second most resilient currency in 2024, surpassed only by the Malaysian ringgit.
