On Tuesday, President-elect Donald Trump posted on his social media Truth that anyone or company who invests at least $1 billion in the U.S. will receive an expedient approval and permit, which will also include all environmental approval as well.
Although Trump’s specific measures to proceed with the proposal remain unclear, Trump’s transition team did not clarify any possible adjustment or dismissal of rules and regulations that would lead to expedited approval or permits.
Trump’s proposal is part of his ultimate goal of reducing federal regulation and promoting investment in the United States both domestically and abroad.
His specific note on environmental approval clearly shows that he plans to dismantle many of Biden’s era policies, such as electric vehicle tax credits and strict fuel standards, to address climate change.
Lee Zeldin, who was appointed by Trump to lead the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), promised to curtail the regulations that he saw as weighing down business.
