EGCO Acquires 11 Solar Projects Under ERC’s Feed-in Tariff Program

Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (SET: EGCO) has been selected as one of the applicants for additional electricity production under the regulations of the Office of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) regarding the procurement of electricity from renewable energy in the form of Feed-in Tariff (FiT) for 2022–2030. This selection applies to ground-mounted solar power projects with no fuel costs. EGCO will undertake 11 projects with a total installation capacity of 448 megawatts.

Additionally, EGCO is operating and partnering with collaborators in response to the ERC’s announcement for the procurement of renewable energy under the RE Big Lot Program, round 2, which has a total capacity of 2,180 megawatts.

For the SPP projects, a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) will be signed with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), while VSPP projects will have PPA with the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA). The agreements will span 25 years, with a fixed Feed-in Tariff rate of 2.1679 baht per unit for the entire contract period.
