Trump Reveals $20 Billion Data Center Plan Backed by DAMAC Founder Hussain Sajwani

President-elect Donald Trump announced plans to build new data centers across the US, supported by a $20 billion foreign investment pledged by Hussain Sajwani, an Emirati billionaire and founder of the property development company DAMAC Properties.

Trump also mentioned that Sajwani’s company might double the investment, viewing Trump’s election as a prime opportunity to expand. Sajwani expressed that he had been waiting four years to increase his investment in the US significantly.

Regarding the data centers, Trump stated that the “first phase” of the plan would be implemented in Texas, Arizona, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, and Indiana.

Besides Sajwani, other foreign entities are planning to invest in the US following Trump’s election victory. Last month, Softbank CEO Masayoshi Son revealed plans to invest $100 billion in the US and create 100,000 jobs over the course of Trump’s term.

This interest may also stem from Trump’s promise to offer perks, such as expedited permits, to those investing more than $1 billion in the US.
