According to a source reported to Bloomberg News, China may consider selling TikTok to billionaire Elon Musk despite preferring the popular short-video app to remain under its parent company, ByteDance.
Although the company has appealed against the ban to the US Supreme Court, the court seems to maintain its stand on forcing TikTok to be sold to a US company or face the ban by January 19, citing national security concerns.
If Musk successfully acquires the application, he would likely run it together with his social media platform, X. As of now, all related parties, whether Musk himself, X, or TikTok, have either declined or have not commented on this topic yet.
