CPALL Reaffirms of No Participation in Seven & i after Itochu Quits

CP All Public Company Limited (SET: CPALL) has disclosed information through the stock exchange of Thailand in the evening of Wednesday that the company will not participate in the investment of Japanese retail company.

Despite not mentioning the name, media has been reporting of the group company (CP Group) involving in talks with Seven & i founding family to explore investment in the operator of 7-Eleven in Japan and other countries across the world.

The announcement was made after the closing of trading session on Wednesday following the report by Nikkei in the afternoon that Itochu, another potential participant in the investment, stepped back from the deal due to lack of synergy to its business group together with management concerns.

The share price of CPALL rose 10% to THB54.25 per share.
