MONO Price Surges as Company Eyes Turnaround with Premier League License

On March 5, 2025, shares of Mono Next Public Company Limited (SET: MONO) surged by 6.54%, reaching an intraday high of THB 1.14, an increase of THB 0.07, with a trading volume of THB 88.04 million.

Liberator Securities reported that MONO’s performance is expected to rebound in 2025, following the completion of impairment charges, such as the THB 700 million digital TV concession impairment recorded in 2024, which heavily impacted financial results.

The removal of these special items reveals an improvement in MONO’s operations. In 2024, losses narrowed to THB 9 million from THB 45 million in 2023.

With the impairment of the digital TV concession being a one-time charge ahead of the concession’s expiration in five years, MONO’s turnaround in 2025 appears promising.

MONO has also made notable strides in its acquisition of English Premier League (EPL) broadcasting rights, effectively connecting with major operators like AIS and TRUE.

The company plans to launch EPL market campaigns in June, targeting an increase of 2 million customers or reaching a base case of 4 million customers, projecting revenue between THB 950-1,450 million.

MONO outlined its 2025 business strategy, emphasizing core content production through major media channels, video streaming via Monomax, MONO29 TV channel, international licensing, and efficient cost management.

A significant collaboration between MONO and Jasmine International Public Company Limited (SET: JAS) is set to broadcast EPL matches on the Monomax platform, beginning the 2025/2026 season for six years.

The collaboration aims to build a joint membership base of 3 million subscribers, projecting increased revenue of THB 600 million from the THB 50 per member service fee. Additionally, advertising revenue is expected to grow from EPL broadcasts on MONO29.

MONO29 will leverage EPL broadcasts to drive advertising revenue through selected live matches and related sports programming, attracting a broader football audience and expanding business opportunities. This initiative is projected to add an additional THB 150 million in revenue.
