On March 24, 2025, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reported via Form 246-2 that Alpha Chartered Energy Co., Ltd., the seventh largest shareholder of Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited (SET: BCP), acquired significant shares in BCP on March 19, 2025. The company purchased 62,907,915 shares, representing 4.5687% of BCP’s total voting rights. Previously, Alpha Chartered held 35,441,000 shares, accounting for 2.5739% of the voting rights.
This acquisition was executed through a “Big Lot” transaction from Capital Asia Investments Pte. Ltd via the Stock Exchange of Thailand, facilitated by Yuanta Securities (Thailand) Co., Ltd, and Maybank Securities Pte. Ltd.
Following the purchase, Alpha Chartered Energy’s total holdings in BCP rose to 98,348,915 shares, equivalent to a 7.1426% stake of total voting rights, elevating them to the position of the fourth largest shareholder.
Notably, on March 19, 2025, there were three Big Lot transactions involving 61 million shares of BCP, valued at over 2.3 billion baht, with an average price of 38 baht per share, which is 1.33% higher than the board price.
Previously, Capital Asia Investments Pte. Ltd held 66,936,315 shares, representing 4.8612% of the voting rights. The Singaporean fund has been selling its stake in BCP this month.
On March 5, 2025, Capital Asia Investments Pte Ltd. sold shares of BCP through a Big Lot transaction amounting to 123,923,085 shares, representing 9% of the company’s total voting rights.
