GUNKUL Engineering Public Company Limited (SET: GUNKUL) clarified regarding the earthquake event on 28th March 2025 at 13:20 hrs., with the epicenter in Mandalay, Republic of the Union of Myanmar, which caused tremors felt as far as Nakhon Ratchasima Province, the location of the Company’s three wind power projects with a combined capacity of 170 megawatts. GUNKUL made an announcement to the public that the said event has not impacted its operations or electricity generation in any way.
Following the incident, between 28th and 29th March 2025, the company’s engineering team conducted inspections on all 83 wind turbines across the three wind power projects. No damage or unusual cracks were found on the turbine foundations or structures, and no abnormal operation signals were detected. Consequently, each turbine has continued to generate and supply electricity to the grid as usual.
Additionally, GUNKUL has completed inspections of its office buildings, warehouses, substation buildings, equipment in the 115kV substation yard, the 115kV transmission lines up to the connection point with the electricity authority, as well as the internal roads in all three wind farm sites. No anomalies or damages that could affect the generation and distribution of electricity were discovered.
With respect to the company’s solar power projects (both solar farms and solar rooftops), they are also operating and distributing electricity as normal. Furthermore, inspections of the GUNKUL’s warehouse, electrical equipment manufacturing plant in the Taling Chan area, and the head office revealed no significant structural or operational damages.
From the time of the incident to the present, all employees and contractors working in various locations of the company projects remain safe, with no reported injuries or adverse effects.
